  • Favorite quote this week: Being grow up is a terribly hard thing to do. It is much easier to go from one childhood to another!

It was another crazy week here. But so much fun with the colors changing and the laughter of leaves falling we raked up a bunch for some fun sessions with kids! There's nothing better than playing except being the one behind the lense capturing that Childs Play that I've grown to treasure with each passing day. Watch for added images of our playtime.

I did spend the entire week revamping my Children's line. Please check out my website at www.dawnpshotography.com, as it's almost complete with up to date information and portrait galleries! It comes with some difficult decisions as the times are growing harder for everyone and I want to continue to offer quality portraits that remain affordable. For the first time since I opened my business 5 years ago (in my basement part time), I have raised my children's prices. But along with that, I am able to offer a higher end product, a ton more options for your portraits and once again TOP NOTCH QUALITY! Along with it comes the "Going Green" philosophy. While there is still the option of printing proofs of each session, you will purchase them prior to printing. That way, if you don't want them then I don't just throw them away, hence helping to save our planet. Being a hands on person, I couldn't go completely proofless as I recognize the need for my customers who are like me to still have this option. However, for those of you who just want the portrait, then you can view and choose or use our online gallery for selection choices. I believe it's a win win for everyone!

I'll be out of the studio this week on Monday and Friday for personal reasons but should be available Tuesday-Thursday as we have the last of our Class of 2008 fall portraits! It's a sad but exciting day as we enter into our holiday season and getting the Senior portrait orders in and complete. Remember your 90 day deadllines... we are dreadfully close to the first deadline and your credits will be deducted 20.00/month for each month over your 90 days- NO exceptions!

Hey all...check this out! The summer is over and fall is officially here! That's just insane...or should I say the summer was insane! We did 78 seniors to date which is 18 more than what I allow myself to do! Ad into that 45 children and 8 families and you'll know why I only had 8 days off (3 of which were photographing one of our family friends daughter for her Senior Portraits!) My family must be saints to put up with this absentee mother/wife! They were amazing how they kicked in and helped wherever and whenever I needed. Mariah would reflect light/block light, laugh at my sick jokes and even be the brunt of my humor at any given time. That's amazing for a 15 year old! While Mariah, Taylor and Kelly (my summer help) were at their summer athletics, I'd often wake Paige to come help with my morning shoots. She'd emerge from the house with one eye closed and hide behind the reflector hoping the Senior couldn't see her! Paul, the official grounds keeper and prop maintainer worked more than one should have to! Often bringing me my meals at my desk so that I was sure to "eat", a task that I tend to forget in the craziness of it all.

In spite of it all, what an amazing group of people in our Class of 2009!!!!! The kindness and fun, creativeness as well as respect from each and everyone of you and your parents, is why I love what I do! I'm settling into getting all the orders completed right now- remember orders take 4-6 weeks to complete.

What a fun week last week! I did a couple seniors in these beautiful fall colors and KIDS!!!! What a BLAST! Check them out.... SeanIMG_7889 copy

And little Claire...already TWO!!!! So grown up that I had her at 3 when her mom informed me she was just TWO! Made me feel better as I wondered how I got to be a year older that quickly. You should hear that girl talk! Once again Snicker was the prop master/kid pleaser but he loves his job as studio dog!2IMG_7727 copy

I am booking now into November 15th with no weekend openings until 2009 so call soon for those Christmas/Lullaby Club Pix. Also watch for my newsletter on the NEW CHILDRENS /FAMILY products and pricing. That's right if you want to order under old prices from portraits already taken, you must do so within the next 30 days or it will be under new pricing guidelines. Thanks!
    Have a great week all!
